We’ve had a lot of fun working on alphabetical order lately. Today, I did guest post about introducing alphabetical order over at The Traveling Classroom with my lovely friend, Dinah. After your children know their ABCs, you can start right in on alphabetical order, which as we all know is very essential skill.
Dinah and her family are living and homeschooling in Panama. I hope you will head over and check out her blog!
After you read about 10 Actvities for Alphabetical Order and pick up the two freebies I have for you there, you might want to challenge your students to a fun game of Alphabetical Order War.
I have included several sets of cards to allow for differentiation as students progress in their alphabetizing skills. The sets have CVC words, Dolch sight words, number words, initial blends, and lots of early reader words. There is even a challenge set of “family words” such as brother, sister and the alphabetizing challenge of grandma/grandpa.
Students will play a traditional game of “War” as they decide which words come first in alphabetical order.
