I used to LOVE collecting frogs out of my parent’s window well when I was growing up. I even tried to sneak one into my room, inside of my pocket, before my parents caught me. Side note: Frogs do not like Gushers fruit snacks! It’s so interesting to learn that frogs were once teeny tiny tadpoles.
Life cycles are so fun to explore with young, curious learners! This multi-sensory stages of a frog life cycle for kids craft really brings the process to life and helps kids remember it.
I love that it requires simple materials that you probably already havingt lying around. And I love that you can adapt the life cycle of a frog for kids craft into ANY life cycle you might be studying! Imagine all the comparing and contrasting possibilities.

REGARDLESS OF THE ANIMAL, PlANT, OR INSECT, LIFE CYCLES ARE A GREAT WAY TO INTRODUCE YOUNG LEARNERS TO NEW VOCABULARY AND CYCLICAL PROCESSES. THIS IS REAL SCIENCE FOR KIDS!
Biology for kids help children connect with nature, and they help them understand the world around them.
This life cycle of a frog diagram is a great hands-on way to explore how a frog comes into the world. Since kids are already familiar with frogs and typically have background knowledge, learning specific information about how a young tadpole becomes an adult frog is fascinating and real to students.
The life cycle of a frog worksheet includes eggs, tadpole, tadpole with legs froglet, and frog.
I like to use the frog life cycle printable at the end of the unit to review what we learned, to practice the vocabulary, and to have a final finished product to refer to as we study other plants, animals, and insects.
In addition to learning about frog eggs and tadpoles, you can pose additional questions to young learners. Depending on the species of frog you study, there could be additional questions for thought:
- How do frogs change as they develop?
- What does the frog need to grow and survive?
- What is it called when an animal/insect changes throughout its development?
- What food helps the froglet grow?

Why Is It Important For Kids To Learn About Life Cycles?
Children are naturally curious about everything around them. Learning about the life cycles of living things help them understand the world a little bit better.
Background Knowledge
Learning about life cycles is really the first step toward more complex science concepts, like the scientific process.
Connect with Nature
The more children know and understand about the natural world, the more they will connect and understand to natural surroundings.
Understand Cycles
Many things in our world are cyclical: life, seasons, and weather are a few examples. Understanding basic life cycles gives kids knowledge of general cycles.
Make Connections
Learning different life cycles, from plants to animals and insects, helps kids make deeper connections among them and relate it to themselves.
How To Use Make the STEM Frog Lifecycle
How To Make The Lifecycle Diagrams
Step One:
Print the kindergarten science worksheets and pictures on paper or cardstock. There is an option to choose from either black/white or color.
Step Two:
Create each stage of the life cycle with the children. Cut out the pieces and have the children place them in the correct order. It’s best to have them place it on the spot before they glue it on so you can check for understanding.
