Free Printable Fall Gross Motor Action Dice for Brain Breaks

There are so many fun things to do in the fall that you don’t get to do the rest of the year. Like pick pumpkins, jump in the leaves, rake the leaves after the kids jump in them…again… Ha! Sometimes we need a little break from the daily ‘stuff’, so I created this fun set of fall gross motor action dice to bring a little more fall fun into our day. We had so much fun pretending to climb apple trees and there may or may not have been a little bit extra leaf raking going on…

this fall gross motor action dice printable is a great way to get kids active this fall! pretend to pick up a pumpkin, rake the leaves, and other fun fall actions!

Materials for Fall Brain Break Dice

  • Paper
  • Paper Cutter
  • Differentiated Instruction Cube

To prep: Simply print the fall gross motor action dice (found below- click the bright blue box) and cut apart the squares.

If you don’t have a differentiated instruction cube, you can use the cube template that is included. But I highly recommend getting a set of the cubes because there are so many fun ways to use them!

Insert the papers with the actions into the slots on the cube and you are ready to go! And how amazing is an activity that you can go from print to play in less than 5 minutes?!? My favorite kind of activity!

To use: Roll the cube. Seriously that easy.

Then have the kids act out whatever action has been rolled.

Wrap your arms around a big pumpkin… remember to lift with your legs. *wink*

Reach high in the sky and climb a ladder up an apple tree.

My daughter struggled with pretending on a few of them and she insisted on trying to climb a huge tree in our yard, raked the leaves with her hands and then told me I needed to rake the leaves for real because she wanted to jump in a real leaf pile.

Not today…

She also has a tendency to “roll” the cube by searching for the picture that she wants to act out and then placing that picture face up. And she insists on doing every action one time before repeating her favorites. (I am never going to play Yahtzee with this child…)

I hope you enjoy the dice as much as we did! I’d love to see it in action.
