Benefits of Telling Time

Telling time is primarily a math skill using numbers children are already familiar with. However, telling time has additional benefits you may not have thought of:

  • Independence: When children can tell time independently, they feel a sense of responsibility and can better understand time management.
  • Following Routines: Routines and staying on a schedule is important for a child’s development and mental well being. Identifying that 5:00 p.m.. is dinner time and 8:00 p.m. is bed time helps children stay focused on important tasks.
