One of the big favorites of my kids has always been transportation vehicles. They love ‘things that go’! Some of Shiloh’s first words have been plane, train, and truck. She loves spotting them in real life and is drawn to looking at books with pictures of vehicles in them. As we try to foster a love for reading in all of our kids, this list of transportation books is a great resource to help find books that will join the love of vehicles with the fun of reading.

  1. I think we’ve read (and owned) most of these books! My oldest son still reads picture books about trucks! Many of these were family favorites.

  2. I have two little boys who LOVE all things car, truck, train, etc. We’ve read and loved several of these books (they have Little Blue Truck memorized…and so do I), but I’m excited to look for some of the others, like Locomotive, at the library. Thanks.

  3. This is a wonderful list of transportation books. If I Built a Car is one of my favorite children’s books. My boys and girls LOVE it! Thank you for also adding some of your transportation games as freebies on your website. My kinders love using them.
