Monster Math Pack
The Monster Math Pack is a great way to practice early math skills in a colorful and creative way. Our adorable monsters give students an opportunity to test their skills in color recognition, number identification, creating patterns, problem solving with puzzles, and testing their memory. Children can also demonstrate how to use a dice, count dots, and draw their own monster.
Math skills can be introduced as early as infancy and our children’s’ abilities continue to grow with more practice. In preschool, students will apply their knowledge to master identify shapes, counting to 10, recreating a pattern, and modeling one-to-one correspondence.

Benefits of using the Monster Math Pack
There’s so much more to math that just counting. Don’t get me wrong, counting and understanding the relationship between numbers is important. But the Monster Math Pack is exactly that… a pack. A pack of various math concepts that help children build their magnificent math repertoire.
- Patterns: Patterns can be found anywhere! On clothing, in nature, in objects. Schedules and time frames can also represent patterns. The Monster Math pack includes pattern cards to recreate or make a pattern. Children can also play a spinner game to match the pattern with the corresponding monster.
- Problem Solving: Thinking skills are critical for all people, big and small. Problem solving and finding solutions not only gives us confidence to try harder things, it also builds our memory and brain schema (thoughts). The Monster Math memory game and the number puzzles are great games to practice problem solving.
- Colors: Identify colors can be extremely important in every day life. Green on a traffic light means go, red on a stove means hot. Children will practice matching colors with the Monster Math color recognition game.
And one of the best things about the Monster Math pack is that it’s so easy to prepare and use. It’s as simple as print, cut, and laminate.

You could also use the games in a math center or when students have finished their activity or assignment.
How can I adapt these games for differentiation?
Some of us are visual learners or learn best by hands-on, while others prefer auditory learning or working alongside a partner. As educators and parents, it’s our jobs to make sure that we know how our children best learn and provide them with differentiation when needed.
With the monster color identification game, instead of using paperclips, try paint swatches or different colored manipulatives for matching.
Children can also practice writing the numbers and writing number words alongside the counting games.
You can even use the monster memory game cards to create a silly story or use for word problems.
