Seriously, who doesn’t like to color? Coloring has always been something I have enjoyed. Obviously as a child, but even as a teenager I could find myself coloring while watching a movie or TV and I even enjoy coloring the adult coloring books. My absolute favorite, though, is a fresh box of crayons. Ones where all of the colors are bright and bold and the tips are crisp and pointed. I know you know what I mean. It’s The.Best. This excitement carries itself through onto this super fun Free Printable Crayon Box Roll and Count.

Free printable crayon counting game for math centers. Roll the dice and count the correct number of crayons.

The first thing is to print the activity.

Get a full-year of math activities

A full-year of kindergarten math activities: perfect for small groups, partner activities and independent centers.

Next, I either laminate the printable or put it in the dry erase pocket.

We like using the dry erase pockets for our Roll and Count activities. They are much easier and more cost effective in the long run than laminating.

Although we still laminate all.the.time. When I KNOW my daughter is going to be obsessed with an activity I will laminate it, so it’s always ready to go for her. These dry erase pouches are a fabulous alternative though.

Count crayons with this free printable math game for counting. Kindergarteners love these roll and count games.

To play, have the child roll the dice. The number that it lands on will be the number that is focused on for this round. Have the child say the number, write the number, write the number word and put the correct number of counters on the crayon box. I like to have the child count as they are putting it on the mat as well. Keep this going as long as the child is interested.
