Free Nurse and Teddy Bear Roll and Count Printable
We all have to take our children to the doctors office for one reason or another. Many children have a hard time, at least initially, even with the thought of a doctors office. Our family became very accustomed to doctors offices, not only because we have four daughters, but mostly because of my daughter’s Rett Syndrome diagnosis. Shiloh has always enjoyed going to the doctor because of all the amazing nurses that take the time to get to know her and play with her. Nurses are fantastic at helping patients, no matter the age, feeling more comfortable. Nurses have a way about them that just glows with kindness and caring. So when I realized that it is National Nurses Week I just had to make a printable activity. This was the inspiration behind this Free Nurse and Teddy Bear Roll and Count Printable Math Game.

Nurses Deserve Our Help
Did you know that some nurses work 12-13 hour shifts, if not more, with no sleep in between? Not to mention nurses who work the night shift most likely don’t get a full ‘night’s sleep’ before going to work.
Many times nurses will get off of their long shift and drive home. Exhausted. Some may not be able to keep their eyes open while others may even be falling asleep at the wheel.
You Caring is trying to solve this problem by providing spaces for nurses to sleep. Lack of sleep not only effects each individual nurses health and safety but has also been reported to be responsible for 34 errors for every 1000 nurse shift.
Imagine your only option is to either drive home basically delirious or pull over in your car and take a nap.
Now imagine, a safe place that is private and quite, close to work and has a clean bed for you to sleep in. Which option would you choose? Cars are not meant for sleeping and are not the most comfortable place to sleep, especially after a 12+ hour shift on your feet. This place would even be close enough that nurses could take a 20 minute break and sleep during their shift if needed. This would mean nurses would not only stay safe, reduce risk on the road, but they would be able to return to work energized and more alert.
Every family who has spent time in a hospital or multiple doctors visits can attest that nurses have made a major impact on their lives. Nurses are the shining light between patients and the rest of the healthcare system.
Public support along with YouCaring can help provide a safe space for nurses to rejuvenate and return to work in optimal force. With your help, these Sleepboxes can be built and supplied for nurses around the country. You can read all about it and more here.

Prep & Playing
We like using these dry erase pockets for our Roll and Count activities! These pockets make playing much easier and more cost effective in the long run over laminating. Although we still do laminate at times, a lot of times, for games that my daughter can switch back and forth through themes, I love to use these pockets!
We’ve included a band aid theme dice for this activity. Once the dice is put together, kids can roll it. Whichever number it lands on will be the number that the child(ren) can focus on for that round. There is also the option of getting a larger number dice, or these double dice to increase the digits used for this activity.

This is the cutest activity and will go well with my pet vet theme.
Great! Enjoy!!
What size bandaids did you use? Even my small ones are too big š
I just used the normal ‘small’ ones from Band-Aid. They do have those tiny band-aids as well, but we rarely have those on hand.
