Now that Christmas has passed, it’s time for all things winter! Winter crafts are a fun way to bring any lesson to life, like a study on the letter P or a study on penguins and other winter animals. This simple heart penguin craft gives a new twist to penguin crafts and would work perfectly in any winter month. You could even use it as a Valentine since the penguin is heart shaped! Follow along with our simple directions to learn how to make your own heart shaped penguin craft. You’ll love how cute these look once you have a whole classroom full of the little critters.

Make the heart penguin craft this winter and become a hero of your classroom! Kids will love this adorable twist on the basic penguin craft.
Gather your supplies before starting this craft. You’ll need white, black, and yellow paper, and some googly eyes. If you want to use another color like pink or red instead of black for Valentine’s Day, go ahead!
Show the kids how to fold a piece of paper in half and cut a heart shape from the white paper. Repeat with the black paper, only making the heart slightly bigger.
Make a third tiny heart from yellow paper and cut out a yellow beak.
Glue the white heart to the black heart. Glue the yellow heart to the back of the black heart to make feet. Glue on the googly eyes and the beak to complete the craft.
If desired, you can glue the penguin to another piece of paper. You can also cut out two black wings and attach them to either side of the heart, but I liked the simplicity of the heart penguin craft without any wings.
